The Department of Finance Insurance and Real Estate (FIRE) offers undergraduate majors in Finance with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance, Real Estate, Financial Technology with a concentration in Actuarial Science, and Financial Technology with a concentration in Financial Engineering It also offers minors in Actuarial Science, Real Estate, and Risk Management and Insurance The Department offers a Master of Science concentration in Finance, a Graduate Certificate in Real Estate, and a Master of Decision Analytics concentration in Financial Analytics Additionally FIRE faculty teach in the MBA, Executive MBA, and online MBA programs They also have opportunities to be involved in the PhD in Business. The Department has 13 full-time faculty who are active researchers and engaged teachers In addition it has two full-time directors who run the Kornblau Real Estate program the Risk Management and Insurance Program and the Virginia Credit Union Financial Success Center.

Responsibilities: The Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate Department of the School of Business invites qualified candidates to apply for a Visiting Professor faculty position. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Corporate Finance, Investments, and Financial Markets and Institutions. The successful candidate must conduct scholarly research where the output of such research is published in high-caliber peer-reviewed journals, advise students, and provide service to the department, school, university, and academic community.

Required Qualifications:
  • Possess or be a candidate for a PhD in a discipline related to the department's programs.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
