We are looking for a Global Seeds Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Research Triangle Park, NC.

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, You will be responsible for establishing excellence in global Seed quality control activities and methods to achieve product quality in alignment with the global quality management system. As the Global Seeds Quality Manager, you will be responsible as business expert and process owner to lead the design and implementation of systems which will support Quality and Production operations across the globe. 

You will lead the strategy, process development, budget, timeline, and implementation of our global LIMS tool, and others, in multiple crops / countries, and in addition, lead the current maintenance and enhancements for existing crops / countries. You will provide transparency and reporting of quality control results and trends to drive evaluation and prioritization of continual improvement opportunities through quality assurance and quality management activities.

You will also be a core member of our Operation Excellence Team, achieving operational excellence and driving business strategy and execution. You will collaborate with regional operational and supply chain leaders, as well as with colleagues across BASF, to ensure alignment and successful execution of the program.

  • BS Degree in Agronomy, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Information Technology or Business Management or related, MS degree preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Black Belt (or willingness to achieve) preferred.
  • Master Scrum (or willingness to achieve) preferred
  • Lead Auditor (or willingness to achieve) preferred
  • 8+ years of experience working in Operations and Quality
  • 5+ years of experience working in Operation Excellence roles
  • 7+ years of plant based, biological and/or seeds lab experience, you will set requirements and audit QMS activities in the labs according to global and local specific procedures, protocols and work instructions 
  • Strong track record in leading, implementing and managing projects and in leading, implementing and managing operational excellence initiatives and improvement processes.
  • Capable to drive cultural change while being a strong communicator and influencer of key CI strategic initiatives.

Must possess the following:  

  • LIMS / SAP QM expertise and project management skills to lead global lab system strategy, budget, timeline, and project management.
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills are crucial for establishing influential relationships, driving process changes, and providing functional leadership to global leaders and teams.
  • Utilizing your audit expertise, knowledge, and experience with international quality standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, as well as the continuous improvement process in order to ensure that processes meet international and national regulations and standards as applicable 
  • Utilize project management skills to lead global lab system strategy, budget, timeline, and project management. Deep understanding of CI methods and tools
  • Apply superior problem-solving and analytical skills to ensure processes meet international and national regulations and standard and identify new methods and approaches to improve quality and efficiency 
  • Your skills in strategy and analytics will help you develop global QC analysis and reporting capabilities and liaise with quality managers to improve any negative trends
