Halcyon Underwriters is an established and ever-growing National Wholesaler/Broker that has an opportunity for a highly motivated Commercial Assistant Underwriter Trainee for its Maitland, FL office. We are a merit-based company where hard work and performance are recognized & rewarded. High performers for this position tend to be fast-paced, analytical, intuitive, detail-oriented, and generally possess good business instincts & critical thinking skills.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Learn Underwriting, rating, and marketing of new and renewal policy submissions.
  • Service accounts, prepare renewals, surplus lines review, following up for subjective information
  • Develop proficiency at negotiating terms and conditions - including coverages, exclusion, deductibles, and pricing.
  • Compare and Review insurance applications and quotes for accuracy/completeness
  • Servicing accounts, prepare renewals, surplus lines review, following up for underwriting information
  • Maintain client files, submission files, policies and endorsements processes, invoicing, policy disbursement, audit reviews
  • Follow established quality control guidelines
  • Meet requirements for licensing as needed
  • Build key relationships with vendors and customers while supporting the Production Underwriter
