True Benefit is conducting a candidate search looking to hire an Underwriting Specialist with a sales/broker support and quote quality assurance skill set.

Position Summary
Reporting to the senior director of underwriting, we are looking for someone with proven ability to assess situations quickly, apply established protocols against cases, think strategically, and reach consensus within the organization. We are seeking an experienced, consultative healthcare Underwriting Specialist, Quality Assurance – Sales Support and Quote Submission, to be a key member of our business. We look to our team members to be the best in the business, both analytically and in their ability to communicate their findings.
Responsibilities
- for driving quality benefit quote submissions – ensure high quality and accurate document collection.
- most questions and problems independently as the subject matter expert.
- and maintain strong partnerships with the sales force and health insurance carriers.
- share your industry knowledge and actively support and collaborate with colleagues, as well as prospects.
- recommendations and support to initiatives focused on improving processes, procedures, and practices.
- lead in the development and execution of training materials.
- formal supervisory responsibility: however, coaching and driving effective, best practices is expected.
Qualifications
- Degree required.
- Not less than 3-year’s applicable medical insurance rating/underwriting experience; medical brokerage environment or medical insurance carrier preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledgeable on Small and Large group health funding disciplines.
- Understanding of self-funded and level-funded funding arrangements.
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-based environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Applications and Microsoft Office.
