JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), National Center for Environmental Information (NCEI), Climate Science & Services Division (CSSD), with one vacancy in Asheville, NC. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Management and Program Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Provides program management of contract and procurement activities; analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of program operations; identifies and implements opportunities to streamline processes and procedures; advises on complex program issues with mission impact; advises management on program and operations effectiveness. Leads cross-organizational communication related to project and initiatives; manages and communicates project requirements; ensures that the products delivered are fully understood by the other organizations whose activities are interdependent on these deliverables; provides reports on budget, actual costs, and performance metrics to external organizations as required. Independently addresses minor project issues; projects the potential effects of actions on viability and attainment of program objectives; advises management with recommendations on various methods and procedures to meet project goals.
