As a Lead for the Lakeland Distribution Center, it is imperative that the leadership team remain engaged, focused and committed to the success of the operation.  To help ensure all objectives and goals are properly aligned and the operation is poised for success, the following expectations have been communicated and agreed upon:

Lead Role:         

Effective use of systems including logging in to your PC daily to check emails and respond to items impacting you and your area, AS400, Access Databases, RF unit, etc., to facilitate necessary people movement based on needs of operation. 

Communicates well with other leads and employees.   

Makes timely and effective decisions based on objectives and goals. 

Address issues effectively and immediately and not avoid them as they arise. 

Reinforce leadership team’s mission and objectives when out on the floor. 

Effectively manage area of responsibility to assist with meeting OT% objectives. 

Actively participates in shift start meetings, lead meetings, department meetings and All Employee Meetings. 

Trainer Role: 

Prepares for and delivers instructor-led training on variety of topics (business processes, systems, new capabilities) to all levels of internal learners. 

Uses adult learning techniques, training tools and terminology appropriate to the learner and topic. 

Adapts presentation style to meet the learner needs. 

Practices good classroom management techniques to handle a variety of classroom situations. 

Anticipates, addresses, and fields questions. 

Provides both positive and constructive feedback to learners. 

Provides feedback on employees’ progress to employee’s supervisors/management. 

Implements training approaches to address employee’s performance gaps. 

Develops exercises and demonstrations for training. 

Training Coordination and Communication 

Schedules training based on availability of classrooms, equipment, and instructors. 

Ensures all training rooms / venues, equipment, catering arrangements and other requirements are arranged and set up for an effective training experience for employees. 

Organizes, prints, and prepares training manuals, guides, and course materials. 

Communicates appropriate pre-course information to participants / managers in advance 

Maintains updated curriculum database and training records

Minimum Requirements: 

Typically requires 5+ years of related experience

Critical Requirements:

MHE certified 

Advanced knowledge of AS-400 

Good attendance (must not be on any corrective action) 

Additional Knowledge & Skills: 

Thorough knowledge of Material Handling issues; basic reading, writing, and math skills 

Good communication skills 

Self-starter / problem solver 

Good working in a team environment 

Physical Requirements: 

Ability to perform lifting to 50lbs (weight varies based on product)
