Description

Summary: The Lead Engineer assists the Director and Assistant Director of Engineering with maintaining the entire hotel property, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment with particular attention towards safety, guest satisfaction, security and asset protection.

Lead Engineering for PGA National Resort responsibilities:

Conducting walk-throughs and visually assessing the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment Ensuring all projects, including, but not limited to, routine maintenance, repairs, replacement and renovation projects, are completed on time and according to specifications Working closely with other departments to ensure coordination of activities Preparing and adjusting weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts Responding to guest requests in a timely, professional and friendly manner to help ensure that we are meeting or exceeding guest expectations Acting as the safety coordinator for the entire hotel including ensuring that all emergency equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per standards Maintaining a safe and working environment throughout the hotel for all associates, enforcing safety guidelines and building awareness about safety Ensuring compliance with OSHA, Fire & Safety Laws Assessing critical repairs and facilitating an immediate and cost effective response Implementing and managing procedures and practices that ensure quality assurance for work performed by hotel maintenance teams Ensuring that there is an adequate inventory of parts, supplies, tools and materials available through effective ordering Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day/night shifts, weekends and holidays

Qualifications:

Will have previous hotel and supervisory experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Engineer in a hotel, hospital, or building Possess a thorough knowledge of all types of mechanical equipment such as chillers, boilers, water softeners, and refrigeration equipment Possess extensive working knowledge of building systems to include but not limited to; HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting and carpentry Demonstrate excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Required Skills and Abilities:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Climbing, reading, standing, walking and routinely lifting 25 lbs to 50 lbs. Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments. Computer knowledge is a plus

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

You should be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, have the ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.

Safety & Security: The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
