The Ideal Candidate:The successful candidate will lead our clubâs extensive use of video in support of team and individual developmental goals, tagging games and practices, pre-scouting opponents and potential trade/draft prospects, and assisting in all analytics efforts.  Additionally, this individual schedules and manages all team logistics, travel, player and staff community appearances, special projects and administrative needs.  

How Youâll Contribute:
  • Manage all team video needs including practices, in-game breakdown, pre-scout, distribution and storage, editing and analysis
  • Serve as key point person between team and video platform (Hudl Sportscode)
  • Coordinate and lead all team travel including hotels, meals and road trip logistics, as well as additional home meals for players and staff.  Book and manage travel for affiliate players and recruits
  • Manage team travel budget, maintaining a detailed travel budget and preparing monthly updates
  • Organize and manage team statistics and analytics.  Additional analytics responsibilities may be assigned by General Manager
  • Coordinate community appearances, player media/promotional obligations and special events 
  • Purchase and organize hockey operations supplies
  • Prepare and distribute detailed weekly schedules to players, staff and billets including practices, games, off-ice workouts, community events, study hall, media and promotional obligations
  • Perform video breakdown of potential draft picks, free agents and trade prospects 
  • Attend all team practices, home and road games and select community events.  This will include nights, weekends and holidays.
Player Stats and Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree (strongly recommended)
  • Must possess a background in video work and an ability to view the game of hockey at a high pace to live code the games using the Hudl Sportscode video platform.  Prior use of Hudl Sportscode strongly encouraged.
  • Basic understanding of player and team analytics including key metrics and data
  • Strong technical capabilities related to computers, video cameras/tripods, and the ability to quickly diagnose and solve issues
  • Positive, energetic, individual that is organized, communicates well (written as well as verbally), driven and open-minded.  Must work well with large groups.
  • Have a passion for player development and assisting players in reaching their goals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment while juggling many tasks at once with great attention to detail. Excellent time management is required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with position including lifting and moving boxes
The Team:The Chicago Steel, members of the United States Hockey League (USHL), are celebrating their 25th season and are one of the most decorated junior hockey teams in the world in recent years.

Since 2015, the Steel are the winningest franchise in the USHL and during that time, the Steel have won two Clark Cup Championships (2017 and 2021), two Anderson Cup Championships (regular season titles), and three conference championships. Since the inaugural 2000-2001 season, 360 Chicago Steel players have played Division I hockey, and 59 Steel alumni have been selected in the NHL draft, including seven first-round selections.
