- Under the administrative direction of the Long-Term Care Director of Nursing, you will develop, sustain, and enhance operational systems within the department to ensure positive outcomes. This encompasses planning and evaluating strategies to uphold nursing practice excellence, effective technology utilization, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Accountable for budget management, financial analysis, cost control, and revenue enhancement to deliver quality resident care in a financially responsible manner.
- 24-hour oversight and accountability for the facility operations.
- Engage in and/or lead committees related to nursing operations within the organization.
- Under the guidance of the Long-Term Care Director of Nursing, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 1) supervising the Performance Improvement Program to ensure care delivery aligns with the organization's mission, vision, and values; 2) overseeing the PRI & MDS processes to optimize reimbursement capabilities; 3) representing the Nursing Department on the Safety Committee and coordinating employee safety initiatives; 4) managing attendance procedures; 5) fulfilling daily supervisory duties; 6) assuming Nurse Manager responsibilities in their absence; and 7) conducting interviews for CNA candidates.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Proven leadership experience in a managerial or assistant director capacity is essential.
- Ability to adapt to change and foster an environment that embraces transformation.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels are required.
- Capacity to build and nurture meaningful relationships with staff, residents, and families.
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, coupled with a commitment to delivering outstanding experiences for residents and families.
- Ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
- Qualifications:
- Education:
- Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nursing program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or a commitment to pursue one actively.
Preferred: BSN - Licensure:
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nursing License is mandatory.
- Experience:
- Minimum:
- A minimum of four years of managerial experience and two years of nursing experience with demonstrated leadership in a Long-Term Care setting.
- Knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations and successful survey processes is required.
Clinical competence is essential. - Preferred:
Previous experience at the Assistant Director level - Additional Skills:
- Minimum:
- Proven ability to cultivate healthy relationships with staff, medical personnel, other department managers, and the public in a resident-centered environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to work with residents and staff in various stressful situations.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- High-level multitasking capabilities are necessary.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
- Preferred:
- Knowledge/experience with PRI and MDS; Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
