The Junior Actuary will support the Senior Actuary in performing a range of actuarial tasks essential for the organization. The role involves data analysis, financial modeling, and the generation of reports that assist in making informed decisions regarding health insurance actuarial work. You will play a crucial role in ensuring data accuracy and the timely preparation of actuarial reports.
WORK LOCATION:
  • County of Los Angeles: This role offers flexibility for remote work. However, candidates must be prepared to attend in person at multiple locations and times as designated by the County of Los Angeles.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Assist the Senior Actuary in performing detailed data analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support the organization's actuarial objectives.
  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy of actuarial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Support the team in various ad hoc actuarial tasks as needed.

DELIVERABLES:
  • Assist in preparing and finalizing actuarial reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of data used in actuarial processes.
  • Timely completion of assigned tasks and contributions to the overall success of the actuarial department.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Minimum of 3 years of actuarial experience within the last 10 calendar years.
  • Proven experience in health insurance actuarial work.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
