This role necessitates the candidate to collaborate with a team of experts to analyze intricate issues and devise effective solutions for self-insured clients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in loss reserving projects, with additional responsibilities in pricing/ratemaking, predictive modeling, economic capital modeling, and loyalty rewards initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to integrate into ongoing projects, taking charge of tasks and ensuring smooth communication with clients.
  • Review and validate the work of junior analysts, ensuring technical precision and integrity across various analyses, templates, and reports.
  • Compile, verify, and assess client data for reasonability.
  • Utilize advanced actuarial theories and principles to construct statistical models.
  • Prepare and oversee the production of reports and exhibits to communicate findings effectively.
  • Assist or lead in crafting proposals and presentations for potential clients.
  • Participate in client meetings and marketing presentations as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two actuarial exams completed; progress towards ACAS/FCAS is preferred.
  • 4+ years of actuarial experience within the property and casualty sector, with exposure to clients such as large self-insured corporations, captives, (re)insurers, and state regulators. Previous consulting experience is advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, with a knack for prioritizing and managing multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to cultivate robust relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of promoting a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the practice and across the broader organization.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support client engagements and business development efforts.
  • Self-driven and proactive, with a demonstrated capacity to create client-focused solutions.
  • A collaborative team player, adept at working effectively in a cross-functional setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with R, SAS, SQL, or VBA is a plus.
