Duties

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will serve as a highly experienced Preparedness Assessment Program Specialist who conveys policy and program concepts to technical and non-technical managers and other parties with demonstrated clarity, logic, conciseness, and persuasiveness to obtain the cooperation of others while defending findings to peers and management officials. Typical assignments include:

  • Providing stakeholders technical assistance on the Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA) program.
  • Conducting quantitative/ qualitative data analysis to derive key preparedness insights.
  • Coordinating assessments to ensure the participation of the whole community to share information, account for population-specific factors, and understand the initial and cascading effects of a threat or hazard.
  • Conducting cross-divisional coordination and supporting stakeholders to actively refer and close preparedness gaps.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
