Our clients has an opening for a Lead Scientist.  This important position will provide sales support including feasibility studies and resolve customer questions for product lines including Analytical Instrumentation. This position is based at the Advanced Technical Services Center in Richmond, VA or at one of our regional offices in Chicago, IL, Houston, TX, or Los Angeles, CA. 

The base salary range for this position is $98,400/y to $111,400/y and depends on related experience and location. We offer full benefits, a profit sharing contribution to your 401k and a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Performs advanced instrument demonstrations, trainings, and installations either remotely or on-site with customers
  • Travel (40%-60%, including overnight) e.g. for trainings, demonstrations, and installations
  • Works with R&D to improve instruments
  • Involved with ISO/ASTM certifications
  • Contributes to the development of training and marketing materials
  • Writes scientific articles, presents papers, and attends industry events

Skills and qualifications you will need:

  • The successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills and must be capable of communicating equally well with PhD-level scientists and QC technicians.
  • The ability to work independently and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction are essential for success.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the scientific instrumentation space.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
  • Master's degree or PhD degree required in Chemistry, Engineering, Physics or similar field.
