Raytheon is seeking a Principal Storage Engineer will be responsible for managing storage services in multiple environments as well as providing solutions for storage related issues. The candidate must be a strong troubleshooter with experience in storage issue mitigation as well as prevention. The candidate must be a self-starter, plan effectively to complete tasks, and communicate effectively. This position may require some on call support or occasional after-hours availability as required for installation and troubleshooting support.

The Principal Storage Engineer will primarily work in our Aurora CO location.

Note: Some travel (up to 25%) may be required to support program activities.

What You Will Do

  • Experience designing and supporting advanced storage and virtualized infrastructure.

  • You will design/architect/develop and support Storage solutions optimizing for performance and scalability across multiple computing environments and platforms.

  • You will utilize your Linux skills at the command line to support & maintain storage configurations for storage devices, including SAN, NAS, and scale-out object storage.

  • Comp TIA Security + Certification within 90 days.

What You will Learn

  • You will maintain contact with vendors for hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.

  • You will work with System Administrators as well as other engineering personnel for implementation of storage configurations.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Active and transferable DOD - Secret security clearance is required prior to start date Day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 8 years of related work experience.

  • Experience designing, configuring, deploying, and supporting Network Attached Storage Systems (E.g. Dell, IBM, NetApp).

  • Experience with fiber channel configurations on storage, fiber channel switches, tape libraries and servers, including multipath configurations.

  • Experience with enterprise backup architecture, emphasizing Cohesity of backup solutions.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Block and File Storage in a cross protocol system -administration.

  • Experience with Brocade Fire Channel - administration.

  • Experience with backup systems like Cohesity or NetBackup - administration.

  • System administration with RHEL OS.

  • Desirable - Experience with design and initial build of cross protocol storage solutions.

  • Desirable - Experience with Storage Architecture and Trade Studies.

  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (E.g.: Scrum, SAFe).

  • Experience using automation frameworks such as Ansible or Chef.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
