Clinical Psychologist

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
Duties
Major duties of the Outpatient Staff Psychologist include, but are not limited to:
Provide a full range of psychological assessment services and diagnoses of mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult patients. This includes the routine use of psychological testing.
Provide education to patients, family members, and significant others.
Provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family and group psychotherapy. Interventions are appropriate to the individual's level of functioning and their differential needs for intervention intensity. Accordingly, treatment planning will necessarily involve ongoing clinical assessment that is used to determine treatment intensity and duration. This also includes participating in ongoing training that is needed to update knowledge regarding evidence-based treatments.
Provide consultation to professional staff within the medical center and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients. May include temporary assignments working collaboratively within medical/surgical settings.
Develop, implement, and document the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders and other documentation that relates to performance measures. Complies with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g. entering diagnostic and procedure codes)
Adhere to operational policies and procedures for the treatment team, established by the Program Manager and Mental Health Leadership Team.
Assist the Program Manager in the execution of ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects to monitor the effectiveness of the clinical program.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am - 4:30pm
Telework: Telework, if approved, would be on an AD-HOC basis.
