Data Center Infrastructure and Maintenance:

  • Become Proficient: Learn data center operations, including room layouts, MDFs/IDFs, UPS & Non-UPS power, breaker identification, batteries, AC units and generators, fire and pre-action systems, VESDA advanced smoke detection system, Site Scan/Alber, and vendor interactions.
  • Routine Inspections: Conduct proactive walkthroughs and routine physical inspections of rooms and generators across DC4, DC5, and DC6.
  • Health Checks: Perform daily data center health checks and manage infrastructure issues in coordination with infrastructure teams and vendors.
Performance of Daily Batch Schedule:
  • Daily Batch Scheduling: Maintain daily batch scheduling using Control-M and ensure completion of daily and nightly batch streams.
  • Critical Activities: Coordinate exceptions and critical activities outside of normal processes.
  • Monitoring: Use available monitors to maintain visibility of environment health and system schedules, reacting to issues and concerns appropriately.
Management of Monitoring, Physical Security, and Data Center Policies:
  • Security and Policies: Maintain data center physical security and policies.
  • Rapid Response: Coordinate the execution of the Rapid Response process.
  • Operational Performance: Provide holistic status of operational performance during shifts, demonstrating knowledge of monitoring and reporting on Sev-1 events.
Communication:
  • Daily Briefing: Participate in and improve the accuracy and quality of information provided during the 8:30 AM call.
  • Documentation: Clearly and accurately document information for the Daily Briefing call before the start of the next shift.
  • Communication Tools: Utilize email, Daily Briefing Conference Calls, TEAMS, and SharePoint for effective communication.
Success Criteria:
  • Completion of infrastructure room walkthroughs demonstrating knowledge and proficiency.
  • Efficient and proactive handling of data center maintenance and issue resolution activities.
  • Zero data center physical security or policy breaches.
  • Effective execution and documentation of Rapid Response calls.
  • Accurate and comprehensive participation in Daily Briefing calls.
