What you get to do in this role:
As a Staff Hardware Reliability Developer you will be responsible for building hardware specific tools that scale systems through automation and evolve ServiceNow’s infrastructure by pushing for changes that improve reliability and ensure optimal performance of the hardware that powers ServiceNow’s Enterprise Cloud.
We work closely with our external hardware partners to develop and creative solutions that enable us to achieve our high level of reliability. As such, excellent communication skills with an appreciation for feedback are critical for success in this role.
In addition to automation development, you will be responsible for helping build our internal knowledge base by creating and maintaining documentation regarding all things hardware.

To be successful in this role you have:
6+ years of relevant work experience. Proven problem-solving skills Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration (e.g., filesystems, storage volumes, devices, system calls, repos, etc.) or networking (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, network topologies and hardware) 3-5+ years of experience with enterprise-class server systems including remote access management devices and firmware management 3-5+ years of experience of shell scripting and Python, including programing against RESTful APIs Bachelor or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or Computer Science (CS) or related field Ability to extrapolate patterns from datasets, and build reports that illustrate trends Excellent communication, conflict management, time management and interpersonal skills required Experience using the ServiceNow platform or ITIL Process and Change Management Experience with ServiceNow Platform a plus Experience working in or with operations teams to help develop solutions cross-team solutions Proficiency using version control systems such as Git, SVN, etcGCS-23
