Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed grant reports to ensure compliance with grant requirements and deadlines. Maintain accurate records of all grant-related financial transactions.
- Nonprofit Accounting: Manage all aspects of nonprofit accounting including fund accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Billing: Oversee the billing process, including invoicing for services provided, tracking payments, and managing accounts receivable. Ensure accurate and timely processing of all billing transactions.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct regular financial analysis to monitor the financial health of the organization. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support strategic decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Audit Preparation: Prepare and assist with annual audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with program managers and other staff to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting. Provide training and support on financial matters as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit accounting, with a focus on grant reporting and billing.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
