Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I or II

Job Functions:
Provide high quality, compassionate, and ethical counseling to clients as scheduled in individual and group therapy settings.
Actively participate as a positive member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Complete treatment plan for each client in caseload and regularly update based on client progress.
Complete clinical assessments and documentation as necessary, including but not limited to, treatment plans, biopsychosocial assessments, concurrent reviews, discharge plans, etc.
Minimal supervision regarding use of time.
Complete accurate clinical documentation same day as date of service.
Maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
Complete all recommended continuing education requirements.
Stay current with updated research and best practices.
Be aware of community referral sources and refer when necessary.
Secure client information per HIPAA standards.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Oregon CADC I or Higher required. Bachelor's degree in human services field preferred.
Experience and/or passion for working with Veterans a plus
Strong assessment skills.
Experience with group facilitation.
Experience with individual substance use counseling, treatment and discharge planning.
Two to three years of experience working in behavioral health substance abuse field preferred.
Knowledge of treating co-occurring mental health issues.
Strong computer skills required, experience with electronic medical records preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and professionals.
Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Working knowledge of community recovery support programs (e.g., AA, NA, Smart Recovery).
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Electronic Health Records; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
State of Oregon Board of Behavioral Health examiners to license all qualified individuals via licensing procedure per Oregon Revised Statute requirements. Virtue at the Pointe Recovery Center will verify credentials/licensure prior to employment beginning.
