Job Summary: The Building Services Lead provides work leadership to team of Building Services Assistant and others. Performs a wide variety of manual and technical duties in the maintenance and repair of campus buildings.

Additional Department Summary: The Building Services Lead is responsible for leading and supervising the Building Services Technicians of Capstone Village in the absence of the Building Services Coordinator. This position will also lead the Custodians. Will train Building Services Technicians. Responsible for ensuring setting up of seating, tables, and other items needed for special functions at the facility, removing those items, and returning the space for regular use; removal of trash from the buildings and grounds; Building Services Technician supervision directs routine building services operations. Maintains current records of all supplies and equipment necessary to maintain the building including inventories. Assists the Building Services Coordinator with the planning and forecasting expenditure needs for the overall building services department.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of building maintenance, operations, custodial services, and/or special events experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Post hire: Must complete DETA Brain Series Training under the supervision of the Healthcare Administrator. Must complete six (6) hours of Assisted Living and Dementia refresher trainings each year. Must follow approved infection control procedures.

Skills and Knowledge: Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform administrative functions such as ordering supplies, input and closing of work orders, and basic computer knowledge. Ability to work with a diverse client group. Ability to make decisions independently. Ability to be proactive in problem solving and able to anticipate potential building problems and act accordingly. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changes. Ability to use Microsoft Office computer programs. General knowledge of State of Alabama Assisted Living and Specialty Care Assisted Living Rules & Regulations.

Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience.
