The following are the duties of this position at the GS-15. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Be responsible for the management and direction of staff responsible for the development of designation targets, conduct of related investigations, and preparation of administrative records, including the investigation of persons that may be subject to designation under US economic sanctions programs, which has national security and foreign policy impact, in one or more program areas which may include, e.g., counter-narcotics, counter-proliferation and country- or regime-based programs.
Serve as an expert technical authority in one or more program areas, e.g., counter-narcotics, counter-proliferation, counter-terrorism, country or regime based programs, and other critical functions to include reconsideration (petition cases) and requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) concerning the division's activities.
Contribute to the development and implementation of sanctions programs and implementation strategies and policies.
Oversee the designation target investigations, analysis and development in one or more program areas which may include, e.g., counter-narcotics, counter-proliferation, counter-terrorism, country- and regime-based programs, as well as petitions and FOIA requests.
