New York, United States International Rescue Committee Full time
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the worldâs worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is one of the world's largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations (INGO), at work in more than 40 countries and more than 25 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. A force for humanity, IRC employees delivers lasting impact by restoring safety, dignity and hope to millions. If you're a solutions-driven, passionate change-maker, come join us in positively impacting the lives of millions of people world-wide for a better future.

Background of the project:

One fiscal year 2024 (FY24) goal for the Global Partnerships and Philanthropic Services (GPPS) team is to expand into new sectors and geographies. The Employee Engagement & Workplace Giving (EEWG) team supports that goal for FY24 to build transformational employee engagement based on priority markets to be identified within Europe, the Nordics (Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway), Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions. A focus is to maximize global donations (including workplace giving) in those regions by conducting an environmental scan of the best and most widely used giving sites and workplace giving software platforms operating in those regions and any requirements for the IRC to participate.

Scope of work:

Reporting to the Associate Director, EEWG, the consultant will conduct a robust environmental scan to identify local Europe, including Nordics, Asia, and MENA vendors who can best facilitate IRC giving. The goal is to increase IRCâs capacity to steward donors/employees through the most used and preferred giving sites and platforms in those geographies. The consultant will deliver recommendations via the following activities:

  • Discovery and Scoping: Review EEWG background information, documents, current systems and align and prioritize regions (between Europe, MENA, and Asia) based on obtaining stakeholder input and feedback.
  • Requirements Review: Understand desired outcomes, top requirements, priority geographies and capacity for change of EEWG to implement.
  • Market Scan: Identify potential vendors, interview potential platforms, other global donation sites, analyze and compile requirements comparison, and verify information.
  • Options and Recommendations: Provide a comparison chart correlated to requirements and recommended viable options, as well as any learnings and essential steps for IRC to optimize its usage of the platforms successfully.

Deliverables:

In collaboration with key stakeholders, create landscape analysis and recommendations for IRC placement on workplace giving platforms/giving sites for targeted regions/countries.

  • Review documents and background information of IRCâs current donation sites and workplace giving platform placement to understand:
  • Current programs (e.g., giving, volunteering, etc.)
  • Regions/Countries and program variations and align priority regions in 1) Europe, including Nordics, 2)Asia, 3)MENA, and 4)other regions if applicable
  • Giving guidelines

  • Partners (official and unofficial)
  • Current processes (onboarding, promoting, vetting, disbursing funds, etc.)
  • Requirements summary of top requirements and data collection requirements
  • Market scan to identify potential vendors, interview potential platforms, and other global donation sites, analyze and compile requirements comparison and verify information.
  • Vendor identification â leverage existing data to contact or identify vendors

  • Analyze and tabulate responses for comprehensive analysis of vendor/donation site data
  • Validate findings via vendor follow-up and third-party data
  • Recommendations and Stakeholder Presentation
