Category Management Analyst

Phoenix, AZ

Hybrid - 3 days on-site

A Mars Petcare Category Management Analyst plays an integral role in leveraging analytical data and converting it into insights and recommendations for key stakeholders that will achieve business objectives. This role will support the team with category analytics, customer presentations, assortment recommendations, digital recommendations and much more.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years in sales or category analytics or management
  • 1-2 years of consumer-packaged goods analytical experience
  • Ability to solve problems and tell stories utilizing multiple data sources.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work within a team environment (aka willingness pitch in where needed)
  • Highly skilled in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with Nielsen or IRI or equivalent data sources.
  • Preferred by not required: experience working with JDA Planogram software.

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Utilize data to Identify business trends, competitive market activity, shopper trends, product performance, and provide actionable recommendations to partner retailers.
  • Synthesize Mars proprietary research into actionable shelf recommendations for key retailer partners. Implement recommendations with the retailer and track performance post-reset.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to track performance of business objectives (shelf performance, product effectiveness, retailer initiatives)
  • Build, update, and refresh weekly and monthly dashboards (weekly POS + monthly category recaps)
  • Provide ad hoc support as needed.
  • Participate in the development of category presentations incorporating syndicated data and other sources of data that address business issues.
  • Work closely with our Category Management and Space Planning teams to ensure quality results are delivered.
  • Keep abreast of customer(s) KPIs, strategies, and other important information.
