Manager, Functional Signage

Sitting within the Operations Department (alongside Fan Operations, Venue Management, Team Services, Media Operations and Competition Management), Dressing and Signage aims to deliver the most outstanding look and feel project in event history.  
 
Reporting to the Head of Dressing and Signage with day-to-day oversight from the Senior Dressing and Signage Manager, the Functional Signage and Commodities Manager will be a fundamental member of the team responsible for delivering the Dressing and Signage project for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and FIFA World Cup 2026.

The successful candidate will be directly overseeing the collation and delivery of all functional signage and standard dressing commodity requirements across all official sites at both the FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Club World Cup 2025. 

Functional Signage (alternatively known as functional area signage or FA Signage) refers to the signage that individual departments within FIFA26 require to ensure their spaces and facilities can function as required for the event.  The signage can be used to designate rooms and spaces, as well as display operational necessary information and will be utilized at all official sites at FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Club World Cup 2025. These signs can come in a variety of sizes and can be wall mounted or freestanding.  These signs are fundamental to the smooth operation of the events and the requirements are collated in collaboration with the functional areas that. are responsible for the room, area or space. Functional signage may also include some handheld âlollipopâ signage, venue maps, seat designation and functional area specific information such as QR codes.

Dressing Commodities (sometimes referred to as âKit of Partsâ or âKOPâ items) are standard dressing items that can be ordered by functional areas in order to support the delivery of their function or to enhance the look of a space they are responsible for. Dressing examples include, but are not exclusive to: freestanding backdrops, event branded table skirts and cloths, flags and banners which may also contain functional information.  In addition, custom, non-KOP treatments may also be ordered if deemed necessary and within agreed service level limits.

Supported by a dedicated coordinator, they will work with multiple functional areas across the FIFA26 and associated teams to successfully record all of their functional signage requirements; work with the language services team to ensure that all Functional Signage is translated to the necessary languages; work with the design team to ensure all functional signage and dressing commodities  are designed and artwork to be consistent with the Signage Kit of Parts; and work with the appointed signage suppliers to ensure that all requirements are produced and delivered to all FIFA World Cup and FIFA World Cup official sites in a timely manner and to agreed deadlines.

The role requires a high attention to detail and would suit a tenacious individual who enjoys working in close collaboration with people from across the organization. The role is heavily weighted towards data collation and would suit a candidate from a project-based background, with no specific requirement for this to be within events or signage - although such experience or skills would be advantageous.

Whilst the role is based in Miami, there will be travel both domestically and to the other Host Countries during the planning phase of the project. There will also be a potential need to relocate to another Host City for up to three months to take the role as Venue Dressing and Signage Managers during the event period at an assigned stadium

THE POSITION The main responsibilities for the Functional Signage and Commodities Manager will be:

⢠Contributing to the delivery of a world class dressing and signage project for all target groups attending matches of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and FIFA World Cup 2026. 
⢠Collating all FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Club World Cup 2025 functional signage and dressing commodity requirements in collaboration with the functional areas from across the organization. Acting as the focal point for the functional areas on all requests.
⢠Managing the functional signage and dressing commodity requirements content management system and ensuring all information provided is consistent and correct.
⢠Liaison with appointed suppliers to ensure FIFA World Cup 2026 meet all production deadlines for functional signage and dressing commodities.
⢠Ensuring the appointed suppliers deliver, and where necessary install all functional signage and dressing commodities as per the requested timelines.
⢠Quality control of printed products to ensure they are meeting the agreed standards.
⢠Acting as the point of contact for all Dressing and Signage team members with regards to their functional area commodity and signage questions.
⢠Liaison with Language Services Department to add items to the glossary as per the requests from the functional areas. Terms will be received in English (US) and translated to Spanish (Mexican) and French (Canadian).
⢠Proofing of functional signage artwork including checking wording matches that in the glossary in the required languages.
⢠Constant monitoring of the budgetary impact of functional signage and dressing commodities operations and reporting updates into the Senior Manager and Head of Department regularly. 
⢠Day to day management of the Functional Area Signage Coordinator.
⢠Contributing to Dressing and Signage team meetings as and when required.
⢠Possible relocation to a Host City for up to three months in to act as a Dressing and Signage Venue Manager at an allocated stadium.

YOUR PROFILE Education & Qualifications
⢠University degree in appropriate subject (or adequate training/vocational education)

Work Experience
⢠Minimum 4 years in a project or data management role, ideally with tangible experience in delivering dressing, signage, branding or look projects for events of a similar scale to FIFA World Cup 2026 (e.g. previous FIFA World Cups, Olympic Games etc.)
⢠An understanding of the technical aspects of delivering dressing and signage projects advantageous (i.e. production methods, installation techniques, materials etc.)   
⢠Budget management experience on complex and multi-faceted events and projects.
⢠Experience in managing providers of services for world-class events or projects.
⢠Experience in the development and integration of operational plans.
⢠Significant stakeholder management experience across multiple organisations and departments.

Languages
⢠Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus

Technology
⢠Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools 
⢠The role will require extensive use of the appointed Dressing and Signage Supplier(s) project, content and scoping management systems so a readiness to learn new technology processes, systems and programs is essential.
