Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Analytics Leaders, Aircraft Maintenance and Airport Technical Operations in Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize reporting and analytics in support of all areas within the business units. Engage the operation, understand the needs of the business, prototype data analytics solutions and tools, deploy enhancements, and coordinate with IT for sustainable solutions.

• Support the Aircraft Maintenance and Airport Technical Operations team with daily automated database reporting, ad-hoc data pulls, and analytical projects aimed at continually improving airline performance. Leverage emerging technologies and identify efficient and meaningful ways to communicate data and analysis to satisfy business unit needs.

• Be an expert in the data environments and automation process involved in daily reporting as well as ensure weekday and weekend delivery of reporting via automated processes.

• Locate and extract data from a variety of sources for use in reporting, analysis, and statistical modeling. Partner with IT and BI groups to optimize and enhance the database environment for optimal efficiency and best practices.

• Identify and source new data for use in reporting, analysis, and statistical modelling.

• Develop and improve automated reports for daily consumption using specific formatting and presentation guidelines.

• Provide ad-hoc data support on complex subjects and material in an expedited manner.

• Empower and mentor team members with skills to improve their confidence, accuracy, technical knowledge, and communication skills.

• Design and implement database structures, ensure data integrity controls, and establish internal governance processes.

• Support existing tools and platforms, identify new and innovative technology, and support team training on tools, best practices, documentation, and transition to AWS.

• Improve existing processes and implement new processes to increase efficiency, productivity, and performance throughout the data pipeline.

• Responsible for database loading, development and management of operational procedures, environment management, database health (e.g., monitoring, proactive and reactive responses), resource planning, database upgrade planning, and environment transition planning (development, test, stage, production).

• Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

• Less than 10% international and domestic travel required.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, and five years of relevant experience.

• In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field and two years of relevant experience.

• Using Alteryx to design and develop workflows making it analysis ready and streamlining data preparation processes to perform analytics and generate insights;

• Using Tableau or Power BI to transform, explore, and discover patterns of raw data into relevant insights and reports making it accessible and understandable to stakeholders promoting data-driven decision-making;

• Using SAS or SQL to perform data manipulation for business intelligence reporting and creating views to automate ETL processes;

• Developing and validating SAS programs to produce high quality datasets and perform statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data mining activities to support business analysis;

• Using Python/R to locate and extract data from a variety of sources to perform data manipulation and statistical modeling to create technology solutions by building and deploying models;

• Performing ad-hoc analysis and spreadsheet modeling by utilizing functions, macros, and pivot tables in Microsoft Excel and creating tools and simple dashboards to visualize various scenarios to perform what if analysis;

• Using Database Management to design and manage different databases and retrieving relevant information efficiently; and

• Using Data Governance to manage frameworks for data related processes and policies, including defining data ownership, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring data integrity and implementing data security measures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

Airline experience is preferred.
