About the Role

Serving the Boston area for over 150 years, this medical center offers an opportunity to join their Quality & Patient Safety team. The Quality & Patient Safety Specialist plays a key role in supporting the development, implementation, management, and sustainment of an organization-wide system of quality and safety.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates and executes all aspects of project plans by leading, facilitating, and managing multi-disciplinary quality and patient safety improvement projects
  • Provides supportive management oversight for organization wide advancement of the culture of safety with progressive independence
  • Performs risk surveys and assessments of various departments, services, and systems
  • Leads or serves as consultant for teams engaged in quality and/or patient safety improvement work
  • Provides support to multidisciplinary teams in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality care initiatives for specific patient populations
  • Helps to ensure compliance with various codes, laws, rules, and regulations concerning patient care, including those mandated by state, federal agencies, and compliance with the Joint Commission risk management standards

Skills & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience combined with healthcare administration; minimum 1 year experience in clinical quality/patient safety
  • Experience within Quality and Patient Safety Departments
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of patient safety science, quality improvement methodologies / tools
  • CPPS or CPHQ preferred

Compensation & Benefits

$113,000 to $130,000. Competitive benefits.
