Quality and Patient Safety Specialist

Location: Boston, MA

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Experience: 3-5 years combined healthcare administration and a minimum 1 year in clinical quality/patient safety, CPPS or CPHQ preferred

Job Summary:

We seek a Quality and Patient Safety Specialist to join our world-class acute care medical center in Boston, MA. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our organization meets all quality and patient safety standards. They will work to identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. The candidate must have at least 3-5 years of healthcare administration experience and a minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical quality/patient safety. Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain quality and patient safety programs
  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and patient safety standards
  • Analyze data and provide reports to leadership
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to quality and patient safety
  • Coordinate and lead quality and patient safety improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality and patient safety goals are met
  • Provide education and training to staff on quality and patient safety topics
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in quality and patient safety

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in healthcare administration or related field
  • 3-5 years of healthcare administration experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical quality/patient safety
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
