    About Thompson Creek Mine
    The Thompson Creek Mine is a primary, surface molybdenum mine and mill located approximately 48 kilometers southwest of the town of Challis in Idaho's Custer County.

    In operations since 1983, the mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods with large electric-powered shovels that can each move up to 100,000 tons of waste rock and ore per day.

    Thompson Creek Mine promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
    About The Opportunity
    We are looking for an Superintendent, Mine Operations to join our Thompson Creek team. The Mine Operations Superintendent will be responsible all aspects Mine Operations, including directing and overseeing the Mine Operations Shift Supervisors, safety, administration, planning and equipment operation. This role will focus on organizing the readiness of the Mine Operations teams including training, team development, rosters and schedules, and the development of Mine Operations policies and procedures.

    Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Being responsible for the day-to-day Mine Operations, including the daily coordination of crew activities.
Setting priorities and executing the safe and efficient deployment of personnel and equipment in all Operation activities. Reviewing performance data, and developing and implementing changes necessary to enhance safety, improve productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Communicating planned Operation activities with the Mine Maintenance department to ensure the long-term viability of the fleet. Inspects work area to ensure specific operational performance, optimum utilization and safety standards are being met. Maintaining compliance with Corporate, governmental, and Site environment, human resources, and safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Maintains time and production reports and records. Ensures that operational reports, logs, spreadsheets, and other production documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Providing direction for employees to grow and develop while motivating them to reach their maximum potential. Assisting in resolving disputes, mitigating concerns, and other employee issues in a timely manner; or escalating issues to senior levels. About You
To qualify, the following skills and experiences are required :
Must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have ability to prioritize assignments and make well-reasoned timely decisions. Must have knowledge and understanding of safe and efficient mining practices, procedures, and regulations. Five to seven years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. About The Benefits
