The Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment, under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Enrollment and Student Engagement (AVPESE), provides leadership and supervision for recruitment and admissions activities for all student constituencies including, but not limited to first-time in college, transfer, adult, online, graduate, and international students. The Executive Director serves the University community by providing administrative leadership and the day-to-day management of an effective, dynamic, responsive, and seamless approach to student recruitment, admission, and enrollment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Oversees the development and implementation of annual recruitment plans and works with the AVPESE on strategic enrollment management planning efforts.
  • Leads the planning, designing, coordination, and implementation of student comprehensive recruitment initiatives in line with university vision, mission, and enrollment goals.
  • Build relationships with local schools, communities, businesses, and other organizations to enhance recruitment efforts and other collaborative ventures.
  • Utilizes data-driven decision-making and is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing strategies that result in quantifiable and measurable outcomes. This requires significant planning for, and management of, the recruitment and admissions funnel for first-time in college, transfer, adult, online, graduate, and international students.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the admissions department and other institutional departments, as well as external stakeholders. This could involve working closely with the marketing department on promotional materials or collaborating with faculty on program-specific recruitment strategies.
  • Monitors and analyzes enrollment and other data to identify target populations for recruitment and provides flexible, rapid, response to emerging opportunities; evaluates and reports on trends and development across priority and emerging markets to inform the university’s recruitment strategy.
  • Identifies and achieves goals and targets for increasing and sustaining enrollment through targeted outreach campaigns, one-on-one follow-up with prospective students, and developing deeper relationships with recruitment markets that support first-time in college, transfer, adult, online, graduate, and international students. Recognizes growth and development recruitment and enrollment opportunities and responds effectively to emerging issues.
  • Oversees the process of turning prospective students into admitted students, utilizing the Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) and associated communication systems to maximize effective outreach to prospective students. Advises and leverages student recruitment systems, data analytics tools and emerging technologies to improve and optimize recruitment and enrollment management efforts.
  • Oversees campus visitation programs for all prospective students.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of procedures that ensure timely processing of admissions applications. Coordinates processing of applications with appropriate University departments.
  • Supervises, hires, evaluates, and trains staff who work in recruitment and enrollment.
  • Oversees coordination of multiple special events focused on strengthening partnerships and visibility with high schools, employers, and other organizations to increase enrollment. Serves as a liaison with internal and external offices and departments that engage with recruitment and enrollment processes.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors budgets and evaluates events and campaigns; implements and allocates resources following budget approval; approves expenditures.
  • Collects and analyzes a variety of complex data and information. Prepares recurring management reports regarding recruitment and admissions. Presents prospective student trends, recruitment data and information, and recruitment strategic plan activity to multiple stakeholders.
  • Stay current in the field of admissions and student recruitment best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of progressively responsible professional level experience in higher education, in admissions, recruitment, outreach and marketing, including two years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher Education and student services experience
  • Advanced principles and practices in college recruitment and admissions as it relates to first-time in college, transfer, adult, online, graduate, and international students.
  • State of Texas higher education experience and student services experience
  • Experience with Banner, Recruitment, and/or admissions CRM

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
