Duties * Serve as the Emergency Operations Center Specialist in the Red River Army Depot's Emergency Operations Center. * Responsible for planning, readiness and execution of assigned Emergency Operations Center functions during emergency operations. * Plan, initiate and coordinate administration of the Emergency Operations Center during civil disasters, weather emergencies, security emergencies and production related contingency operations. * Plan and execute specified emergency functions during operations and exercises. * Ensure that Emergency Operations Center has proper supplies for daily operations and assists the Emergency Operations Center Specialist with equipment accountability. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System. * This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. * Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights. * This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time. * This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) * the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. * This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. * This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting in the development of emergency operational plans; 2) Providing assistance with the execution of the emergency operating procedures; and 3) Performing administrative tasks such as preparing reports, maintaining files, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: * Oral Communication
