Job Overview:
The Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator provides support in maintaining the facilities Environmental Protection Programs, Occupational Health and Safety as well as Process Safety programs. Focus will be on providing on-the-floor EHS expertise by investigating incidents/concerns, identifying EHS risks, teaching others how to identify risks, and facilitating the correction of identified items and assisting with the management of permit to work programs, environment reporting, and EHS Training. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety and environmental inspections, and monitors hazardous waste collection, storage and off site disposal.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
� Review, maintain and improve management systems in line with Environmental, Health and Safety best practices.
� Collect, organize, and report EHS-related data including incident investigation information, audit/inspection results, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
� Improve EHS programs and their implementation including Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, Cranes/Hoists, Fall Prevention/Protection, Chemical Management, Ergonomics, etc.
� Assist and lead root cause investigations for near misses and incidents. Investigate incidents and concerns to uncover root causes and track the completion of corrective actions.
� Ensure team members have access to and use appropriate safety and environmental supplies and equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE).
� Facilitate departmental EHS coordination teams around site objectives and targets.
� Participate and/or lead the employee safety committee.
� Review and coordinate site compliance management with regulatory standards, insurance requirements and local EHS policies and procedures.
� Coordinate training for employees on safety regulations, such as how to handle hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment, and prepare for emergencies..
� Participate with the site EHS self-evaluation and audit program. Regularly inspect and audit the workplace to identify hazards and assess risks.
� Identify, implement, maintain, and document all operational control programs as per local requirements on Occupational Safety and Health, Worker Safety, Loss Prevention, Environmental Sustainability, and Emergency Preparedness and Response Programs.
� Work with other departments, such as production, warehouse, QA, and maintenance, to ensure workplace safety.
Required:
� Bachelor�s degree in environmental sciences, Engineering, or safety.
� High level of computer literacy.
� 3-5 years� experience in health and safety.
� Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
� Experience in chemical manufacturing, PSM facility preferred.
