Lab Logistics & Operations Technician
The Lab Logistics & Operations Technician will provide administrative and operational/logistical support to laboratory and facilities operations.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the Lab Logistics & Operations Technician are to:
- Perform domestic and international shipping of lab samples including the administration of corporate trade compliance best practices and manage the workflow for incoming samples;
- Execute and oversee the upload of research data to internal databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with various research systems;
- Provide solutions for day-to-day issues including the facilitation of equipment moves, escorting vendors, and by working proactively and as directed to support daily lab operations;
- Support Laboratory and Vivarium Operations Manager with maintaining laboratory equipment asset lists for Cambridge;
- Act as primary back-up to Laboratory and Vivarium Operations Manager in their absence;
- Support Laboratory and Vivarium Operations Manager with various facility and lab issues, projects, moves and safety related issues.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required qualifications:
- DOT & IATA shipping certification;
- Effective communication skills: written composition, oral, and interpersonal;
- Exceptional attention to detail, follow-through, and interpersonal skills;
- Strong knowledge of software for office operations including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Able to quickly learn complex business processes and master various databases and IT tools. May need to lift and move laboratory supplies and small equipment;
- Strong collaborator, ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing environment;
- Energetic and enthusiastic; responding constructively to challenging innovative ideas and inputs;
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or lab and facilities operations experience;
- DOT & IATA shipping experience in Life Science environment;
- General understanding of import/export of laboratory goods.
