Site Reliability Engineering - IT Infrastructure

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical support team to ensure timely and effective resolution of product related issues.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of SRE and DevOps practices to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize system performance and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in SRE and DevOps.
  • Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to prevent issues.
  • Drive the adoption of automation tools and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Coordinate with collaborators to prioritize and address critical technical issues.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure the effectiveness of technical support processes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for technical support procedures and standard processes.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for complex issues that require advanced fixing.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to implement new technologies and solutions.
  • Ensure that our infrastructure is secure and aligned with industry regulations
  • Develop and maintain documentation for our infrastructure and processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and creativity.

Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in technical support with a focus on SRE and DevOps.
  • Demonstrate expertise in SRE DevOps practices and tools.
  • Have experience with AWS DevOps, DevOps Concepts (Chef/Puppet) and DevOps Skills/Concepts.
  • Show proficiency in using Github (DevOps) and Ansible for automation and version control.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to fix complex technical issues.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and collaborators.
  • Experience in OMICS Data Analysis is a plus providing valuable insights into domain specific challenges.

Salary and Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until 25th July 2024.

The annual salary for this position is between $135,000 to $147,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
