IT Specialist

As an IT Specialist (Internet), you will perform the following duties:

Serve as a senior Information Technology (IT) Specialist responsible for the formulation, research, evaluation and execution of advances in Internet and/or Intranet priorities and development. Serve as a technical expert concerning the application and implementation of Internet services/activities.
Develop and establish policies, protocol, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency to assure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices. Devise a vision of National Ocean Service's (NOS) future state IT architecture, IT developments, applications and novel or emerging technologies and evaluate their applications to business processes, IT security standards, and methods.
Develop plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities, and evaluating and reporting on accomplishments.
Lead the development of Internet policies and identify policy needs and priorities including accessibility standards. Establish policy development agendas and prepare and implement metrics for measuring policy effectiveness.
