The Opportunity

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be part of a team that is responsible for driving cross-functional Digital Product Programs and capabilities from initial concept to market launch that drive the Consumer strategic objectives. You will assist with Digital Product strategy, evaluate ideas, prioritize features, define releases with R&D, manage product roadmap, timelines, budget, coordinate and drive ADC worldwide R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Quality and Commercial activities associated with these projects. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

What Youâll Do

• Formulates, harmonizes and consolidates project scopes, plans, strategies, and budgets for one or more projects, working closely with functional Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts from R&D, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and other functions.
• Leads a variety of different types of digital projects, including launching new products and services: system implementations, application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and Quality System application upgrades and deployments.
• Liaises with other Project Owners, functional managers, and management to prioritize activities across programs to balance resource availability, program deliverables, schedule, and business needs.
• Interface with other disciplines, internal clients, project staff and internal and external experts as required. Coordinate all cross functional activities associated with launching new products or changing existing products.
• Has the flexibility to quickly adapt and produce in a rapidly changing environment, meeting aggressive product launch schedules.
• Champions PMO best practices to drive better project planning, execution, project prioritization and change management within Commercial Programs.

Experiences Youâll Bring

Required

• Bachelors Degree in a discipline appropriate to the project or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Extensive knowledge of project management processes.
• Ability to understand the fundamental solution being developed/deployed - its business value, roadmap, how it fits with the overall strategy or risks.
• Extensive in-depth knowledge of project planning techniques and working knowledge of automated project planning tools required.

Preferred

• Previous work experience in the medical devices industry.
• Process-oriented thinking, focused on continuous improvement and lessons learned â demonstrated ability to define and implement complex and interdependent business processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work and negotiate with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organization and across companies to align plans and resolve conflict.
• Strong presentation skills â creating top-notch presentations and communicating at all levels with clarity and precision.
• Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver difficult messages; execute with limited information and ambiguity.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a large/complex company environment preferred. Technical, manufacturing, quality, or supply chain experience in a health care/medical company considered a plus.
• Experience in Project Management tools such as MS Project, Productboard, and/or JIRA.
• General knowledge of regulations and standards related to medical devices (e.g., FDA, ISO, QSR design controls).

The base pay for this position is $95,500.00 â $190,900.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
