Job Title: Park Maintenance Technician 

Reports To: Director, Park Operations  

SUMMARY 

Responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of Piedmont Park. 

WHO WE ARE 

The Piedmont Park Conservancy is a donor-funded nonprofit organization working in partnership with the city of Atlanta to ensure Piedmont Park is an iconic park for all in Atlanta/metro Atlanta communities. The Conservancy makes Piedmont Park so much more than a greenspace; we provide an experience. 

The Conservancy contributes to the Park’s beautification through detail-focused landscaping, volunteer projects and capital improvements. When visitors to the Park spend time at the Active Oval, dog parks, pool, EnviroVentures Camp, the event facilities and the Green Market they are seeing the results of just some of the areas we have focused our efforts. 

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Park Maintenance Technician to join our team.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

Maintain a professional image, which represents the philosophy of the Piedmont Park Conservancy with emphasis upon providing Park guests and clients with the highest level of customer service deemed possible.  Maintain park grounds by cleaning, sweeping, blowing, raking, trimming, mowing, weeding, edging, aerating, de-thatching, cultivating, digging, watering and various other activities.  Operate and maintain a variety of light and heavy equipment, and power tools relating to general maintenance, grounds maintenance and landscape installation.  Maintain, repair and install automatic irrigation systems and their related fixtures.  Apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers on turf, trees, shrubs, ground covers, flowers and all other areas requiring weed and pest control on park grounds.  Assist with general maintenance of park buildings and facilities.  Maintain and generally repair other areas of the park.  Assist in the installation of new landscaping and the renovation of existing landscaping and related infrastructure.  Reporting of any situation that might be potentially hazardous to supervisor.  Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

None. 

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

High School Diploma or G.E.D.  4 years or more of full time experience performing landscape or general maintenance
