Purpose of the Position: The purpose of the position is to provide services to visually impaired students. This is a part-time position located in the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles areas.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Minimum Skills or Qualifications:

Education and Experience
Bachelor of Arts Degree from an accredited college or universityCalifornia Teaching Credential authorizing the performance of service with programs for the visually impairedPossess specialized techniques and skills pertinent to working with the visually impaired, such as braille reading and writing, training in the use of various technological devices and optical aidsBackground and/or certification in orientation and mobilityKnowledge of technology for Braille, large print and talking software Knowledge ofStrong organizational and planning skillsFirst AidCPR Certification within six (6) months of employment
Ability to:
Possess an appropriate California operator's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles and be insurableInteract with and maintain cooperative relationships with all levels of staff and the publicCommunicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writingDOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance.Pro-Act, CPI and/or CPR certification helpful.
