As a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) / Digital Engineer with MTSI you will work as an integral member of a government/contractor team in support of our customer's operations organization. As a systems engineering team member, you will work on all aspects of systems hardware and software -from design and analysis to integration and testing. The team constructs, manages, and conducts discrete mission engineering and analysis study tasks to evaluate the efficacy of legacy architectures and new technologies and capabilities applied in new mission concepts of employment to meet evolving joint mission objectives.

Responsibilities:

You will work as part of a team responsible to establish, maintain, and propagate state-of-the-art engineering practice for the DoD. Team activities include:
• Creating and using engineering guidance and standards that propagate best practices that are essential for warfighting success
• Providing engineering expertise to support the DoD in areas of Systems Engineering, Modular Open Systems Approaches, Digital Engineering, Modeling and Simulation, Software Engineering, and various Specialty Engineering disciplines.
• Advise leadership on modeling and simulation initiatives, as a part of digital engineering initiatives, including discovery, access, and reuse of model and simulation enablers, interoperability and modularity of model and/or simulation environments and artifacts.
• Capable of executing activities within Digital Engineering, tools and environments, with an emphasis on existing tools from within the model and simulation enterprise.
• Critique contractor produced preliminary design and segment requirements.
• Participate in system testing and integration using model-based systems engineering tools and techniques.
• Your work will encompass advanced systems, such as command and control elements and data processing systems.
• Participating in system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation.
• Reviewing system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate.
• Participate in the development of trade studies to support the selection preferred design solutions and course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery.
• Providing review and analysis support to the test team development and conduct of formal testing.
• Participate in project technical risk analysis and mitigation.

• Expertise in frameworks such as Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), or Tactical Open Government Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
• Competence in modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML) and System Modeling Language (SysML)
• Understanding/experience in DoDAF, SysML, and MBSE tools

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• BS degree in an engineering, scientific or technical discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering support or modeling
• Active DoD Secret clearance required, ability to secure a TS (preferred)

 

Desired Qualifications:

• Active DoD TS clearance, ability to secure SCI
• Understanding of multi-segmented system architecture utilizing tools such as: MagicDraw, IBM Rational Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architecture (EA) or Cameo EA Suite

• Proficient using systems engineering modeling tools (e.g. CORE, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw or MapleMBSE) to support system requirements, design, analysis, verification &validation, and continuing throughout development and later life-cycle phases.
• Knowledge in Java and Javascript usage for macro development in EA tooling.
• Understanding of versioning control and database management.
• Engineering experience with designing, assembling or testing applicable military hardware.
• Experience and a demonstrated record of success developing and implementing innovative solutions for a diverse range of highly complex multi-disciplinary problems and devising corrective actions where necessary.
