Job Summary

Retrieves and prepares radiographic imaging studies requested by patients, physicians, medical facilities, attorneys, etc.

Job Duties

Receives and prioritizes requests (through phone, fax, mail and in-person inquiries) for information from patients’ imaging.Checks for properly executed HIPAA-compliant authorization prior to release of information.Prepares and sends radiology batch reports using best practice guidelines to ensure accuracy in correspondence with external providers.Prepares requested medical imaging studies by reproduction and preparation of digital media or film.Ensures and maintains quality control of processed digital media.Lends and mails original films to medical facilities and physicians to ensure continuation of patient care.Obtains, purges and files x-rays jackets as necessary to ensure maintenance of physical film library as well as adhere to applicable state and federal laws.Disposes of films and digital media as per applicable policies and state and federal laws.Maintains film file office supply inventory.

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
