Our client is seeking an AWS Data Engineer for a 12+ month remote contract opportunity to work on a Data Modernization Project This role entails designing and building scalable and optimized data pipelines using key AWS components like Glue, S3, Lambda and Redshift Serverless.

Qualified candidates should have 3 years + of enterprise experience working within the AWS stack. The engineer should be comfortable with Python and Scala coding as required. Prior Healthcare experience pertaining to claims, eligibility and clinical data sets is highly preferred, though not mandatory. The engineer should have a strong understanding of security best practices in relation to developing and maintaining data pipelines. Also required, is an understanding of data warehouse design best practices using the AWS stack. Knowledge of FHIR/HL7 is a bonus, though not mandatory. 

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and other team members to design, build and maintain optimized data pipelines using Glue (Python/Scala), S3, Lambda and Redshift
  • Maintain good code documentation and adhere to software lifecycle expectations including applicable configuration control (using Gitlab)
  • Have a design, code, unit test, document results mentality to all data pipeline code being developed before handing off to Quality control team for further testing
  • Professionally effective within a fast paced and business objective driven environment, self-managing deliverables and maintaining accountability to self and the team
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders like Project Management, Vendor/Customer partners, other business function representatives and end users in an Agile/Waterfall hybrid delivery environment
  • Work with the Infrastructure team members as required to meet deliverables
  • Adhere to all applicable policies and procedures including IT Service Management and Security policies
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to design software with downstream uses of the data & business objectives in mind
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn the software and applications used in the organization and the industry
  • Ability to effectively present complex technical information to end users, coworkers, and management Qualifications
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
    • 5+ year’s experience in developing data pipelines of which 3+ years utilizing AWS components Working Conditions
      • This job is virtual (contractor can be located anywhere within the continental US) but the candidate will be required to work during US EST times with meetings starting as early as 8AM EST in some cases.
      • Responsibilities may require working evenings and weekends with little advanced notice. ** Must be a direct resources of Motion Recruitment, NO Subcontractors
