Boston MA, United States PathAI Full time
Who We Are

PathAI is on a mission to improve patient outcomes with AI-powered pathology. We are transforming traditional pathology methods into powerful, new technologies. These innovations in pathology can help accelerate drug development, improve confidence in the accuracy of diagnosis, and get life-saving therapies to patients more quickly. At PathAI, you'll work with a diverse and talented team of people, who are dedicated to solving complex problems and making a huge impact.

Where You Fit

We're looking for skilled and motivated SDET engineers focused in test automation with some experience to help keep our software robust, reliable and scalable. This position focuses on understanding our applications and products, and creating necessary test automation, leveraging existing test frameworks, and contributing to their extension to accomplish qualification objectives in a CI/CD environment.

Our SDET - Test automation engineers work besides the software engineers from Product engineering, ML Engineering and Quality department. They will be attached to specific projects and initiatives, cross-functionally, developing tests in parallel with feature development while possessing an automation-first mindset. They will cultivate innovation by driving cross-collaboration and execute projects across multiple teams.

Our engineering product technology stack uses Javascript and Python as the underpinnings. We use Javascript and Vue.js on the front end. Python is a first class citizen for our web based platforms using Django as our framework of choice for the back end.

***please note this is a contract position

What you’ll do:
  • Be part of taking our testing strategy to the next level. Building on a solid base to evolve the PathAI testing strategy, documentation and processes to improve the overall quality of our platform.
  • Automate software test activities to ensure PathAI products and infrastructure are capable of delivering quality functionality across all of our products.
  • Work with our engineering teams to implement current best practices from the testing world based on our strict quality requirements.
  • Ensure traceability of test results needed for regulatory approval
  • Work with our engineering teams to define the desired level of test and quality, creating test plans and automating them.
  • Ensure that the test tools improve overall developer efficiency and are equipped with the right tools in order to understand test failure causes and to debug failures when needed.
  • Triage and stabilize unreliable tests.
What you’ll need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years or experience or a Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or equivalent test automation roles
  • Experience developing automation in at least one of OO languages - Python, C++, Java or web based technologies
  • Experience in test framework design and development
  • Experience developing cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools: Jenkins, CloudFormation, Code Deploy (AWS) and/or GitLab
  • Experience with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, tools and services.
  • Experience with test methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in a test automation role.
  • Experienced in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Experience in building, maintaining, automating and monitoring the infrastructure required for a software system.
  • Experience with medical device software or regulated healthcare products
