As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll have the chance to consistently perform at the highest level, incorporating other system assessments into care and reliably demonstrating excellent practice and documentation to department standards with minimal-to-no-variation.
Collaborative Care: You'll manage care and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
Innovation: You'll have the opportunity to demonstrate innovative application of technologies that support patient care and stay active with implementation of evidenced-based-practice and new knowledge generated by respiratory research endorsed by our department.

Assesses respiratory care needs, applies diagnostic testing & therapeutic plans with skill and insight.
Documents patient care according to professional standards and departmental guidelines.
Accurately communicates patient responses to respiratory therapy interventions and recommends need for modification of patient care plan.
Embraces Quality as evidenced by: Comprehension of processes, data, & outcomes; Participation in PI initiatives, Application of standard procedures, protocols, & documentation.
Demonstrates innovative application of technologies that support patient care; Active with implementation of evidenced-based-practice and new knowledge generated by respiratory research and endorsed by Department.
21 Hourly
Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy educational program. Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Experience: 12 months of acute/critical care Respiratory Therapy clinical experience.
Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. RRT-ACCS, RRT-NPS) required within 2 years of hire for Medical Center Respiratory Therapists; ACLS required for TCH Respiratory Therapists within 3 months of hire.
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
