Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for Recent Graduates

Join our dedicated team as a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist, where you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality respiratory care to our young patients. This position offers a competitive $20,000 sign-on bonus and a relocation incentive for eligible candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
As a competent clinician, you will:
- Evaluate respiratory care requirements and apply diagnostic assessments and therapeutic strategies with proficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in accordance with professional standards and departmental protocols.
- Effectively communicate patient responses to respiratory interventions and suggest necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Commit to quality improvement through understanding processes, data, and outcomes; engage in performance improvement initiatives; and adhere to established procedures and documentation standards.
- Pursue professional growth through formal education, certification, and participation in professional organizations, while also mentoring new learners and students.
- Innovatively apply technologies that enhance patient care, actively participating in the implementation of evidence-based practices and new knowledge supported by research.
- Be prepared to undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation:
The compensation for this position is $47.26 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program; an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy is required, while a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
- Licensure/Certification: Must possess a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). An active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is required within 90 days of hire. A valid license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in Virginia is also required, along with American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves standing for extended periods, frequent walking, and bending. Strong communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential, along with attention to detail and legible writing. The ability to lift, push, or pull weight is necessary, and exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases may occur.
