MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated and visionary Ambulatory Nurse Coordinator to join our Colon surgery team. As a member of the Division of Nursing's (DON), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of patient care in this specialized ambulatory field.
The Ambulatory Nurse Coordinator will coordinate the operations of designated ambulatory practice(s) associates. They will supervise clinical and support staff, provide direct patient care and assist physicians with patient care. The Ambulatory Nurse Coordinator will develop, implement, and maintain operational policies and procedures in consultation with physicians and administrative director of the Orthopedics Department.
Coordinates the day-to-day patient flow of designated ambulatory practices. Works with physicians and staff to minimize patient wait time.
Supervises clinical and support staff. Interviews, hires, evaluates performance, promotes, and disciplines staff in conjunction with the Medical and Administrative Director.
Monitors and controls the unit’s budget in consultation with the physicians and the Administrative Director. Procures and manages unit equipment, instrumentation, supplies, etc. Evaluates and recommends new equipment and instruments.
Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in nursing required
· 3 or more years of progressively more responsible job-related nursing and medical office practice experience, preferably in a multiple physician practice
