Purpose To assist health care professionals with the management and coordination of patient care services and unit operations, utilize nursing judgment to provide assessment and evaluation of patients, and to perform nursing skills in the care and treatment of patients in General Medicine and Allergy, Immunization, and Travel Clinic. Responsibilities * Assists with the evaluation and care of patients to be seen by UHS providers. * Performs department specific procedures and treatments per UHS Policies and Procedures * Actively participates in maintaining a safe and clean working environment. * Maintains a level of knowledge conducive to providing high quality patient care. * Supervises Student Clinic Volunteers or Workers * Exhibits exceptional customer service, professionalism and teamwork in all aspects of work. * Demonstrated regular and punctual attendance pattern. * Participates in other activities as assigned. Required Qualifications * Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas. * One year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an ambulatory care setting. * CPR certification within 90 days of hire. * Experience with and a moderate comfort level documenting in electronic medical records. * Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a varied community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective. * Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications * Two or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an ambulatory care area, such as, urgent care, emergency room, or college health setting. * More than one year of experience in performing patient assessments. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills, and professional demeanor. Salary Range $73,645 per year Working Conditions * May work around standard office conditions * May work around biohazards * Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation * Use of manual dexterity * Lifting and moving * Exposure to chemicals and commercial items typically found in offices, medical clinics, and building repairs/maintenance.
