SUMMARY OF POSITION
This newly created Director role will primarily focus on compensation and equity related activities for the organization’ total rewards program. Working in partnership with the VP, Total Rewards, this position will lead the design, implementation, and administration of total rewards programs that drive the attraction and retention of our talent while reflecting market conditions, internal equity, a strong pay for performance philosophy and the company’s priorities and strategies. In addition, this position will also manage the HRIS administration in Workday and support with other HR-related projects as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Total Rewards related responsibilities:
- Partner with VP, Total Rewards to lead the company’s comprehensive Total Rewards strategy across multiple disciplines
- Provide strategic direction, planning, and the requirements to execute the design, implementation, communication and administration the company’s salary, bonus and equity programs including stock awards, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), deferred stock bonus (DSB) and other equity instruments
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness and competitiveness of the rewards programs to ensure alignment with the organization’s business strategies, budget, expectations, talent attraction and retention and monitor the market trend to make recommendations for changes as appropriate for the organization
- Lead the executive compensation and the equity process for the organization in Pay Factors.
- Partner with the HR team to create, peer review, provide quality assurance and disseminate total rewards program information and materials
- Manage participation in leading industry compensation surveys
- Update and maintain compensation in cloud-based compensation data management platforms
- Create compensation analysis for new and existing positions, and manage the mid-year and year-end compensation processes
- Provide timely communication and responses to employees’ inquiries which includes support with Section 16 Officers, Directors and brokers on stock related transactions
- Partner with internal teams, internal and external auditors and external vendors to ensure regulatory compliance and related processes
- In partnership with the VP, Total Rewards, promote an understanding of compensation philosophies, practices, and administration across all levels of the organization. Create compensation materials and trainings to illustrate and communicate compensation related information to the organization.
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees in the interpretation of our compensation and equity programs
- Manage special projects and ongoing processes
HRIS & HR related responsibilities:
- Manage compensation administration in the HRIS system
- Work with the information technology team to implement approved Workday modifications and/or build out for total rewards programs
- Complete HRIS reporting and tasks related to workforce demographics, staffing, compensation, performance and ad-hoc requests
- Provide HR program operational support as requested
- Work on other projects and initiatives as needed
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, finance, accounting, tax, law or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience in compensation and demonstrated experience managing equity program.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Sound knowledge of compensation administration, and total rewards compliance and practices
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and evaluate complex data and information to develop recommendations
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems required; Workday experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Effective communication skills with the ability to organize, articulate, and present ideas both verbally and in writing
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize in an efficient and productive manner
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines with an appropriate sense of urgency
- Ability to take the initiative, work independently and collaboratively with team members
- Ability to use sound judgement, is a complete thinker and has attention to detail
- Ability to handle information of a confidential nature and ensure that such information is secured and maintained in an appropriate manner.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel (intermediate to advanced), Word, PowerPoint) and ability to learn and use different technology tools
