Position Description: Associate, NextGen Programs Reports To: Sr. Manager, NextGen Programs Employment Type: Full-time FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Hybrid/Arlington, VA ABOUT COMTO Founded in 1971, the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) was created to provide a forum for minority professionals in the transportation industry. Our mission is to ensure opportunities and maximum participation in the industry for minority individuals, businesses, and communities of color, through advocacy, training, and professional development. With 40 chapters across North America, COMTO’s membership includes nearly 5,000 individuals, groups, transportation agencies, private sector corporations, non-profit organizations, and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs), representing professionals at all levels within all modes of transportation. COMTO is known as the voice of equity in the transportation industry. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Associate, NextGEN Programs supports the execution of programs at COMTO and leads outreach to colleges and universities in support of the scholarship and internship programs. This role involves managing data collection, analysis, and reporting on applicants and program participants. The Associate will support outreach to host agencies and organizations and provide logistics support for in-person gatherings of students during COMTO’s annual conference. This description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: PROGRAM SUPPORT Program Management: Support key programs including scholarship, internship, and research initiatives. Data Management: Manage data collection, organization, analysis, and reporting for program participants. Collateral Development: Develop and assist with the creation of program collateral and promotional materials. Content Creation: Assist with outreach and content generation from program participants for the News in Motion newsletter and Annual Accelerate e-magazine & annual report. Customer Service: Ensure timely responses to program inquiries. Reporting: Create and provide written reports on program activities and milestones. Application Management: Manage scholarship and internship applications, tracking, and related follow-up. Logistics Support: Manage logistics for scholarship recipients and interns attending the National Meeting & Training Conference. Event Support: Support program participant workshops and special sessions during the National Conference. Survey Development: Work with staff to develop and distribute surveys, track results, and formulate analysis. Website Updates: Support updates to the website related to programs. TCRP Support: Support the planning and execution of TCRP ambassador recruitment and training. Webinars and Events: Support webinars and events related to internship and TCRP programs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: OUTREACH Partnership Engagement: Work with leadership to engage new and existing partners in support of programs. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to program partners, participants, and committee leads. Database Management: Build and maintain a database of strategic partners. External Communication: Work with external affairs to share program information broadly. Targeted Outreach: Perform special targeted outreach to strategic partners to increase engagement. Campaign Toolkits: With support from communications, create campaign toolkits for chapters. Tracking Milestones: Track milestones and accomplishments of COMTO programs to increase engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: COMMITTEE SUPPORT Committee Liaison: Serve as the key contact for scholarship and internship committees. WORK ENVIRONMENT Location: Hybrid work environment with a primary office location in Arlington, VA. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary to support the organization’s objectives. IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS Mission Alignment: Strong connection to the mission of COMTO. Experience: 2 years of related experience in data management, project, or program support. CRM/AMS Proficiency: 2 years of experience working with a CRM or AMS system. Communication Skills: Exceptional writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills. Resourcefulness: Ability to engage well in a team environment to drive stated outcomes. Organizational Skills: Highly organized, excellent attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
