Hunter Engineering designs and builds industry-leading wheel alignment systems, wheel balancing systems, vehicle inspection systems, and more. Hunter equipment, made in America, is approved and used by vehicle manufacturers, tire companies, and dealers in over 130 countries. The Quality Engineer is responsible for assuring quality in all phases of the fabrication/manufacturing process and ensuring continuous production of products consistent with established standards. The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures that all company products meet quality standards. Their primary responsibilities include understanding customer expectations and needs and implementing quality standards and quality control processes.
Wears all safety equipment, follows safety rules and supports, and promotes safety in the work areas.
Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned products or components.
Ensures inspection control plans are created, published, and maintained for all parts that fit the designated criteria.
Works with buyers to address vendor quality and ensure appropriate investigation and corrective actions are taking place.
Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
Maintains the calibration database for all fixtures, tools, and gages by determining the calibration frequency and methodology.
Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities.
Prepares and presents technical and quality program information to supervisors and hourly workers.
Interprets blueprints, drawings, sample models, or specifications to verify parts meet Hunter standards for quality.
Adept at communicating with all levels of staff.
Agile in decision-making skills and ability to articulate conformance issues to inspectors, supervisors, and hourly workers.
Inspects product and/or parts for nonconformance requirements.
Rejects nonconforming parts using a standardized process.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
1 + years’ quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, desirable.
Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
Basic knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing theory and design.?
Strong project management skills.
Strong problem-solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on technical analyses.
