About the Role & Team

The Disney Consumer Products (DCP) team is responsible for creating, developing, and bringing to life Disney merchandise across Disney Parks, Disney Stores, DisneyStore.com, and licensed products sold all across the world.

How would you like to be a part of building the strategy for our merchandise throughout our Disney Cruise line?

As a Location Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for defining the strategic direction for each merchandise shop location in our cruise ships on Disney Cruise Line. You are the liaison between the Operations team and the Merchandise teams, ensuring the priorities are aligned and communicated.

You will report to the Manager, Location Strategy.

This is a 12-month Full-Time Project Hire role.

What You Will Do

On any given day, as a Location Strategy Manager, you might:

  • Define the short-term and long-term strategic direction for the merchandise shops under your responsibility. Strategies are defined using guest data, product strategies, operational feedback and financial data.

  • Develop the retail location strategy, supported by an analytical foundation, to justify retail master plan (rehabs, store closing/openings and new concepts).

  • Provide property-specific strategic feedback to Merchandise Strategy & Merchandise Planning teams at critical quarterly achievement meetings.

  • Develop the floor plans and product flow calendar in partnership with Merchandise Presentation.

  • Own site-level communication as the link to Operations and Commercial teams for alignment and execution of assortment strategy and marketing plan.

  • Analyze and review reporting on current business. Adjust tactics to address business trends. Review weekly and monthly reporting and build/communicate action plans to drive business performance

  • Quarterly, review upcoming product strategies and select items for each merchandise shop.

  • Drive property strategies for seasonal mix changes and events in partnership with Product Strategy and Visual Presentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven business savvy through strategic development, concept development, business development, financial management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.

  • Ability to build the vision for new opportunities and business case to support.

  • Knowledge of merchandise planning, merchandise financials, forecasting, and trend analysis.

  • Effective communication and presentation abilities.

  • Excellent relationship, collaboration, partnering, coaching, and mentoring skills.
