ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Position requires the supervision of professional and technical staff; Provides implementation and coordination of projects; Management, scoping, negotiation and administration of consultant contracts; Provides support during bidding and construction phases with interpretation of intent of plans and specifications; Assists in dispute resolution with contractors, other agencies and the public; Investigates and documents citizen complaints/inquiries concerning major projects and other related matters; Coordinates with City departments, contractors, consultants and other agencies; Prepares and/or coordinates field changes and change orders; Develops plans and budget recommendations related to the Major Projects activity; Prepares or supervises preparation of reports, studies, agenda memorandums, construction plans and design documents, requests to advertise for bids, preparation, evaluation and award of RFQ/RFP for professional and construction services and other project related documentation; Performs engineering studies and makes recommendations for future projects; May be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of experience. Experience in municipal government is preferred. Applicants must have a valid Professional Engineering license (P.E.) at time of application and at time of hire. A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
